How We Choose Providers

We only connect families with providers registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, whose workers have the screening checks the rules require, who can staff the shifts you need where you live, and who agree to contact you promptly. We check they did, and we stop working with providers who don't.

  1. Registered With the NDIS Commission

We only work with providers registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. We check the Commission's public provider register when they join, and again from time to time.

  2. Screened Workers

Registered providers need NDIS worker screening clearances for key personnel and workers in risk-assessed roles. Providers who support children also confirm their workers hold the Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People checks their state or territory requires.

  3. Shifts They Can Actually Staff

Providers tell us where they have workers and which shifts they can cover: daytime, evenings and weekends, sleepovers or awake overnight. We only pass your details on when they say they can staff what you asked for.

  4. Trained for the Care Involved

If you tell us about high intensity care or a behaviour support plan, we only pass it to providers who say they have workers trained for it. Always confirm the worker's training with the provider before the first shift.

  5. They Contact You Promptly

Providers agree to contact you promptly after we pass your details on. We follow up to check they did. If they didn't, we find someone else.

What We Don't Do

  • We don't decide funding or give advice about your plan. That's the NDIA, with your support coordinator.
  • We don't employ or vet individual support workers. Meet the worker before the first shift, using our questions to ask a respite provider.
  • We don't send your details to a group of providers at once. It's one at a time.
  • We don't charge you anything. Providers pay us for introductions, as explained on how it works.

If you've had a problem with a provider we connected you with, please tell us at the email address in the footer. You can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544.
